A few weeks ago I was honoured to model for a local jewellery designer here in Calgary called Alora. I have since been so inspired by their designs and story that I featured one of their founders, Jameela, in our March Sustainable style feature.
I first met the team at Alora a year ago during YYC's local Sustainable Style event and I have loved the designs and vision behind their company ever since! If you are looking for beautiful, ethical and unique jewellery in Calgary, be sure to check them out.
Here are a few fast facts about the company:
Positive & Symbolic Meaning: Each jewellery piece has a symbolic positive meaning attached to it - for example love, forgiveness, family, and believing! So you feel that each and every design is not only unique but also tells its own story.
Helps Disadvantaged Women: Alora is partnered with local and international charities committed to empower disadvantaged women and children. Thus, each purchase goes towards helping to empower disadvantaged women and children rise above poverty.
Combines Culture and Natural Beauty: Alora jewels are inspired by two beautiful countries - Canada and Africa. What's better than to wear something which encompasses both the natural beauty of the Rockies and Ghana's free spirit culture!
Locally Made: All jewellery is designed locally within Calgary at the founders home studio. Materials are recycled and the company is dedicated to sustainable practices.
See for yourself - below are the beautiful images of this stunning jewellery from our recent photography shoot. All jewellery is part of the new collection "Shine". This collection encompasses new beginnings and embracing your unique shine. New in this collection is sterling silver and raw amethyst. The Shine collection is a fun, trendy and fashion forward line of jewelry created to remind you that “Instead of hiding your flaws, embrace them and make them central to your character!” View the collection: https://www.alora.ca/pages/springjewelry2017.
