A Guide to Mod

One of my favourite fashion eras and something I often have fun playing with in my own wardrobe is the Mod style. Short for "modernist" style and worn by fashion icons such as Twiggy, the mod style originated from the streets of London during the late 1950s-1960s. It's radical. It's expressive.

I've also included a few of my favourite mod style advice pieces below to showcase how to incorporate mod into your wardrobe:

  • Clothing with colour blocking themes: Soft pastels or pops of bight colours

  • Bold black and white patterns, including stripes, and geometric shapes

  • Ankle or knee high boots

  • Colourful accessories and oversized sunglasses

  • Peacoats

  • Shift dresses

  • Bold eyemakeup and nude lipstick

Thanks to film photographer Haus Skrastins for helping me bring my personal Mod look to life.
